As it was in the beginning, so it shall be at the end...

spacer Life in its highest form is, spirit. Thought is spiritual in that it is part of man, and yet only known to the thinker. Its presence cannot be denied, it exists only through and in the physical being that is man. Remove all thought, which is the product of the conscious mind and man becomes no greater than any other living creature. It is thought that separates, thought that reasons and leads thinking man to being described above all others, as a thinking animal.

Thought operating through the conscious mind of man, gives to him the potential for his ultimate development from mere creature, into spiritual being. It is only in this spiritual form that man can survive physical death. The spirit that is man is the soul upon which the ancients placed much emphasis. Now this is where you have to either abandon ship or give the article your full attention.

The inner us, this soul, is an inner extention of that mystical thing called, conscious conscience, the inner scales that determine right and wrong: our soul is the description given to the total expression of truth, which is us. This truth is evident in the way we live our lives, the way we conduct ourselves and our affairs, in the very aura that surrounds us. The way we live and conduct ourselves is thought in action, yet inner peace and personal development, the development of the spiritual us, comes onlt from an ability to harmonise our being with the life force that is at the centre of all things. The further we move away, the more our lives will be subject to, confusion and conflict, the degree dependent only on the extent of the separation.

This life force can and often is, seen as the God of the Bible. It is the force that lies at the centre of all creation. It is the power that lies at the heart and distinguishes living matter from dead. Our affinity with the power, or distance from it, determines our ultimate contentment or confusion, our success or failure, as people.

This is not the reward system as it is so often made out to be, far from it.  It is the working of natural law within our lives. It is the power in operation that knows in its basic form, no other way to operate. A refusal to accept its existence does not mean it will not work within our lives, it merely means that it will not work at our control and in our interests. I am sure many of you have already found this out in one way or another.

"As a man thinks, so is he".  In this life and beyond, this is a fascinating truth about life that is missed by so many. On this foundation, stone we either grow, or perish! An understanding of this, one of the greatest of all truths is, a real desire to harness the power that is within us and which operates through the power of thought, is the one fundamental fact common to all success or failure.  To achieve the degree of movement that is possible through understanding, we must first accept that the power, IS.

When this is coupled with a sincere desire to change our lives, miracles can happen, but first there must be a sincere desire to accept the concept, and change.

How often have you heard that there is a lack of miracles in this modern age? What do we want, one way traffic?  There must be that desire to change and we must accept the concept, that is our part of the contract.

                                    Love, Death, and Spirituality

The most important aspects to me are, love, death and spirituality!

Yet, what is Love? What is the thing we are trying to describe through the use of this four lettered word, Love?  True Love is total giving, without excpectation of reward or return. True Love is unconditional. Removing all separation between that which we love and ourselves. Irrespective of the object of our love, be it child, adult or animal. Love is total harmony with the thing loved and through the elimination of separation, having no doubts, there is an elimination of conflict. There can be no conflict where complete unity exists. Now that is so obvious and so simple to understand, no conflict where unity exists.

True Love is unconditional and is not the bargain of which some partnerships consist. True Love can never say  "I will love you as long as..." or " I will love you provided you do not......"  Such love is subject to conditions. These conditions form pleasure bargains that people are seeking to enter into and call these bargained arrangements, love, all in an attempt to elevate themselves to a level that they do not deserve.

True Love is one of the hardest states we can be called upon to enter, for it requires a complete elimination of self. It requires giving in total, without reservation, or threat of withdrawal. Giving when our pleasure seeking nature calls upon us to take. In our hurly burly, aggressive world, with its, "devil take the hindmost" attitude to life, such an approach can be mistaken for softness and weakness, yet it is far from either of these things. It calls for a strength that few possess in sufficient quantity necessary to sustain under the pressure of modern life. It takes all the strength we can muster to forgive and forgive again, without an apparent air of self righteousness ot martyrdom. Yet what are we called upon to forgive? For if we truly love then we can only be interested in giving and not receiving. Also where there is no expectation, no bargain to be met, then there should never be the feeling of disappoinment or loss that so often becomes the norm in sour relationships. For what is hurt in our relationships are the very things that we expect from them. The things we have mentally reserved as our right and our possessions. In our expectations we plant the seeds of our own hurt. There can be no help for this condition but were there no expectations, there can be no hurt, no loss, no rejection.

Complete love can only be in total giving, without expectation of reward or return.

Now how many of us are capable of observing that simple rule?

When we are honest with ourselves we find that we often fall into the trap that seeks pleasure through relationships and label this good feeling, love. We cannot and should not deny ourselves this seeking of pleasure through relationships, but neither should we pretend it is something which it is not. True Love is penetrable, it is precious, rare. It demands a degree of self sacrifice that few possess, yet its rewards are such that we should all try to aspire to it.  Through such love we grow and become closer to destiny and achieve a growth that can be obtained in no other way. We cannot hold ourselves back from other living things and then argue that we are trying to move toward complete harmony and unity with them. This is patent nonsense. We can only combine through eliminating all separation. There is no other way no matter how hard this may be for us.

This trivialisation must be recognised for what it is, an attempt to obtain pleasure without pain and as such is doomed to failure. For when we seek pleasure we invite pain, for we are seeking to be filled and if we fail we are forced to recognise our emptiness, our total isolation, which is the state we exist in without love. Love combines and unifies and that is why it is sought after, worked for, treasured and nurtured.

In the state of love, we enter a state of grace that elevates us beyond normal flesh and into a spiritual beauty of being that enhances physical personal presence. Young lovers often achieve this state, that is why young love is such a beautiful thing to behold. It can transfigure and enhance the beauty of the lovers so that they seem to possess an inner glow. Alas this is a fragile thing, easily corrupted and disturbed by the demands of the flesh, both material and physical, although in certain cases the sharing of two consenting people in the act of making love, can and often is, an act that can smash all other doubts and inhibitions away.

Love is not sex, love is not liking, love is not bargaining.

Love is unconditional giving without expectation.

We may reach this satisfying state through time and then we will know true balance, for we are one with life as in no other way. We would have no need to seek further.

This continual hungering for love is no more than our in-built guidance system, constantly striving to direct us, like the needle of a compass, toward this ultimate state. The Power that  IS, is wholeness and fulfilment in total love and unity. It is the Power that when experienced, leaves no doubt as to the fact that this root is the anchor to the universe and from this root flows the Power that created all that is contained within our universe and which is able to create all within our own individual world. There can be no half-way house here, for love is the most powerful force known on this planet. Nothing, literally nothing can stand in its way, nothing can defeat or conquer it. True Love is the rock upon which we build our lasting growth and firm foundations.

In such love is found lasting agreement, stillness, calmness and a resistance to returning aggression when met by adversity.

Life is Love.

Love is Spiritual.

Therefore life must be spiritual, given shape and form through the law of creation. Life is evolutionary, it is not static and unchanging. We develop through experience, through learning and through growing either closer or further from our spiritual base which is in complete harmony with the Power that is Creation.

As spiritual entities we inhabit a flesh form with all its imperfections and limitations. A form which develops through all the various stages of growth into full maturity and strength, only to weaken and age. We are at our most physically able when we are spiritually immature. As age comes upon us, we are reminded once more of the limitations of the flesh, where once there was athleticism there may now be arthritus. The aging process above all others is a reckoning force which makes us reflect upon our purpose and being, and upon our spiritual possibilities, as we are forced to realise the shallowness of our mere physical being. It forces us to explore the state of our beliefs and how they interact with an external plan. This thinking may lead us to a state of beauty in spirit, which is more important  than beauty in form.

Thought is inward and known to nobody, save the thinker; it is personal, and thus of spirit, it has within it the only potential known to us for survival beyond physical death. The physical form with all its intricacies and excellence of design, inhibits pure thought expression. We communicate with others by expressing thought. Yet mind does not meet mind. Mind can only convey through words, pictures, signs and sounds. With all our physical senses we are limited in communicating with our fellow human beings. To full appreciate the human response, we must fully appreciate life, to appreciate life we must first accept  Death, or at least the reality of death. This reality is ignored by most and becomes an obsessive interest to others.

If we accept life as spiritual, and that we live in a spiritual world and that life itself is of spiritual beginnings, then the fact of Death takes on new meaning. Spirit, being creative energy cannot die. All engineers and physicists know that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only reshaped. We cannot destroy energy, only shape it and use it according to our ability to understand it and control its power. If we accept that at the moment of physical death a transformation occurs when the spirit's inner self separates from the finite physical shell it has been inhabiting, and that this spiritual US can no more die than any form of energy, then we will more clearly understand the death process.

DEATH then is the beginning of the great adventure for which our lives are but preparation, and we must live our lives in the knowledge that we are constantly forming and shaping the colour of the inner US. That inner US will finally pass through the veil and be re-united with all that has gone before.
