You cannot put the clock back

You cannot live in the past,

You can however live for today

And make each new moment last.

The future is indeterminate

A world of plans and dreams,

Today is what we should live for

It holds more than what it seems.

For it's alive and it is happening

As each second ticks away,

Live your life right to the full,

Live a full life, now, today.

Yesterday you missed that chance,

You had other things to do,

But were they that important?

Was life fullfilled for you?

Can you look back on your yesterdays

And say with truth, those days were filled

Did you accomplish what you wanted to,

Did your pulse race, were you thrilled?

How long have you been killing time

With mundane living along the way?

Tomorrow may give you that second chance,

But why waste the chance you have today?

Take time to look around you,

Drink in that beauty here and now,

For nothing lasts forever

And, when the last leaf leaves the bough

The winter of your existence will be upon you

And the clock of your life, will tick on,
